PTC (Pacific Telecommunication Council) is an international, non-profit, non-governmental membership organization dedicated to the promotion of the benefits of telecommunications throughout the entire Pacific Rim.  One of the highlights is the annual PTC conference.

Hundreds of senior executives of major telcos around the world gathered at Hawaii for attending the PTC conference.  Diyixian has also joined the PTC'08 held between 13 and 16 Jan 2008 at Honolulu of Hawaii, USA .

THE CHALLENGE
Objective of video teleconferencing - to step up headquarters’ communication with offshore offices
Advantech’s innovative product line includes industrial automation, industrial and telecom computers, embedded computers and networking computers. Its corporate mission of excellence never stops pursuing R&D improvements. When the head office launches new products or has an important meeting or conducts training, synchronized broadcast is needed to boost efficiency of cross-border communication. Advantech used to process teleconference through Microsoft’s Netmeeting tool which was of low quality. So they have to seek for high-quality’s teleconferencing solution.

Requirements for teleconference – video, synchronized conference materials, combined with recording and streaming devices
The head office needs to show both video and presentation data at the same time when they have presentation on new products to offshore branches. The entire process will be recorded. It can be broadcasted to staff as real-time online training courses via streaming method or the recorded video can serve as teaching materials.

THE SOLUTIONS
Diyixian’s video teleconferencing Solutions
Polycom VSX7000e, VSX6000, PVX, VTX1000
Diyixian recommended Polycom video teleconference products in light of Advantech’s requirements. A set of four-point-connected device VSX7000e will be installed at the meeting room of the head office. When the multi-point meeting is in progress, synchronized video, presentation data, and agenda introduction can be shown with the VTX1000 audio device. Phone calls can also join in the teleconference.

Advantach has installed this set of equipment in China ( Beijing and Kunshan), Japan , the US , and Germany . The other places will be connected to the head office via the VSX6000 single point device. Senior managers of offshore branches can join the conference through PC software PVX.

In order to make the teleconference more user-friendly, Advantech will mix up its own scenario control system with Diyixian’s teleconference services, including automatic lights control at the meeting room and control console.
